David Adix employs a wide variety of objects, including keys, tools, beads, wire, yarn, coins, small toys, hardware, jewelry & watch parts - all wrapped onto an interior armature. "The most consistent element throughout my work is the salvation and reuse of materials. I regard the components I use as fossil like evidence of what humans leave behind. The earth's attempt to relcaim what has been drawn out of it can be seen in various degrees in each piece. Each has a story and a history unique unto itslef. I choose the materials I use because I enjoy the challenge of creating beauty out of what has been discarded. I see these components very organically. To me they are beautiful vestiges of time".
