Mahaska Design studio is headed
up by Darryl Stawinski.
"I grew up in the upholtery business. My Grandmother
lived over the shop in Hamtramck, a city in the middle
of Detroit. I worked my way through art school while I
was there. Old Polish women would always say, 'I wish
I could find an ottoman!'
The ottomans and stools are the spiritual result of being
an artist in the upholstery business." - Darryl Stawinski
These ottomans are made one at a time, using traditional
woodworking and upholstery techniques. They are beautiful
additions to a variety of styles and decors, but are solidly
built and made to be used. The pieces shown below are in-
